PLEASE NOTE CHANGES TO ITINERARY DUE TO COVID
The Festival of Lights has been amended to the Land of Light.
About the Land of Light
Illuminate your senses in a dazzling land of light, this winter. The Longleat Estate will spring to gleaming life, creating a spellbinding sensory walk of discovery for everyone to enjoy. A myriad of magical light installations will emerge across the Park and its sprawling grounds in seven unique zones. In the Land of Light, you can discover motion-detected splashes of playful colour and movement and immerse yourselves in enveloping blankets of soft, synchronised light and sound. Traverse the East Terrace, with its hauntingly beautiful blooming spring display, whilst the cool waters of Half Mile Lake are brought to life in a dancing display of colour, as projections and lasers beam across jutting fountains and flourishing spray. Feel the electrifying heat as you navigate through the Summer Storm, until you reach the Peacock Gardens, adorned with autumnal plumes of atmospheric haze. You’ll be struck by the cold embrace of the chillingly ice-inspired Love Labyrinth; a shimmering winter maze embellished with mirrors and icy LEDs, all nestled in the backdrop of the commanding Longleat House, lit in all its historic glory. Venture into The Longhouse for an immersive 360° infinity experience. You’ll be blanketed in cascading light and breathtaking colourful beams in this floor-to-ceiling optical and aural experience. Don’t miss the iconic 20 metre Christmas tree which will be lighting up the architecture of Longleat’s Stable Yard once more, all the while serenading the Park with beloved Christmas melodies. The spectacular Festival of Light at Longleat House is one of the highlights of the festive season, particularly the stunning display of Chinese lanterns. This year we will be combining our visit with a mystery excursion to the Cotswolds, where many of the pretty villages and market towns will be preparing to celebrate Christmas.
Unfortunately the house will also be closed.
