Rarely open to the public, Frogmore House has been a favourite royal retreat for over three hundred years. Set in the grounds of Home Park about a mile from Windsor Castle, it is frequently used by the Royal Family for private entertaining and last year was at the centre of Prince Harry and Meghan’s wedding celebrations. On Saturday, we enjoy a private evening guided tour of Frogmore. On Sunday morning there will be a self-guided tour of Buckingham Palace. It will celebrate the 200th anniversary of Queen Victoria’s birth. The special exhibition, which will be called ‘Queen Victoria’s Palace’, will tell the story of how the young queen transformed Buckingham Palace from a private house into a working royal residence and will include the Throne Room, the Ballroom, the White Drawing Room and the Picture Gallery.
Saturday: Travel to Reading for our afternoon check-in at the hotel before continuing on to Windsor in time for our evening tour of Frogmore House. Return to the hotel for a late buffet dinner.
Sunday: After breakfast we travel into London for our morning visit to Buckingham Palace, before our afternoon departure for Derbyshire.
