A chance to explore Mid Wales with visits to the Ceredigion Coast, where we spend time in Aberystwyth and enjoy a scenic steam train journey into the Cambrian Mountains. We also visit historic Powis Castle and Gardens and the fascinating Abbey-Cwm-Hir Hall, a Grade II listed stately home and one of Wales’ finest examples of Victorian Gothic Revival architecture.

Itinerary

Sunday: We travel to Wales with a stop for lunch, arriving at the hotel mid-afternoon.
Monday: Have a leisurely morning exploring Llandrindod Wells before our afternoon visit to Abbey-Cwm- Hir, where we enjoy a private guided tour with a member of the family who purchased the hall in 1997 and have since restored it to its original Gothic glory.
Tuesday: After breakfast, we head for Powis Castle and Gardens near to Welshpool. The former medieval
fortress has been transformed into a family home with a world-famous garden.
Wednesday: Today we travel to Aberystwyth in time for our morning journey on the Vale of Rheidol Railway, which takes us through beautiful scenery to Devil’s Bridge. There will be free time in Aberystwyth afterwards to explore this popular seaside town.
