The tranquil Isle of Bute is scenic and unspoilt, with beautiful coastal views and an idyllic location. We combine the serenity of the island with a trip to Glasgow where we soak up the cultural attractions of this famous city and also take an excursion north to Inverary on the edge of Loch Fyne, before travelling back to Bute via Loch Lomond.
Monday: Travel north to Scotland and Wemyss Bay, where we catch the ferry to Rothesay on the Isle of Bute, arriving at our hotel in time for dinner.
Tuesday: This morning we visit Mount Stuart House and Gardens before enjoying a scenic tour of the island. Later there will be free time in Rothesay.
Wednesday: After breakfast, we return to the mainland as we head for Glasgow. Here there will be free time for sightseeing with the city having many cultural attractions, including several museums with free entry. Later we return to Wemyss Bay for our late afternoon crossing back to Bute.
Thursday: Today we take the ferry from Rhubodach to Colintraive, where we travel along the shore of Loch Fyne to Inverary Castle and Gardens, where we have a guided tour. We then journey through spectacular scenery via the Rest and Be Thankful viewpoint to Loch Lomond and the pretty village of Luss, before returning to Wemyss Bay for the ferry back to Bute.
Friday: Sadly it is time to begin our homeward journey to Derbyshire.

All the en-suite rooms have tea/coffee making facilities.
Admissions to Mount Stuart and Inverary Castle are included.
