The Cotswolds and scenic Wye Valley provide the backdrop for this tour with visits to the town of Tetbury, famous for its Royal connections, admission to Chavenage, a magnificent 16th century stone manor house
which has famously featured in the Poldark series as ‘Trenwith’ and cruises on the River Wye and Gloucester and Sharpness Canal.
Monday: We travel to Gloucester with a stop for lunch on the way.
Tuesday: After breakfast we take a drive through the Cotswolds as we head for Tetbury, where the centre of the town has remained virtually unchanged since the reign of Elizabeth I. This afternoon we visit Chavenage, a stately manor house with Civil War connections.
Wednesday: We spend the morning in the historic city of Gloucester, where the Cathedral is well worth a visit. This afternoon we head for the restored Gloucester Docks and enjoy a cruise along the Gloucester and Sharpness Canal.
Thursday: Today’s excursion takes us into the Wye Valley as we travel to Ross on Wye, followed by an afternoon cruise along the River Wye, departing from Symonds Yat.
Friday: Return to Derbyshire.
